Research Methods and Data Analysis Using SPSS & AMOS

About The Event

Program Overview

Management Education all over the world is undergoing a sea-change. In order to keep pace with the velocity of change and thrive in an uncertain environment management education is assuming a rather complex and challenging overtone. Verify management educators are now expected to be both effective teachers and researchers. The need of the hour is to enrich the intellectual capital and to focus on linking classroom teaching in management education with research and new knowledge to stay ahead of the learning curve.

It is important to impart knowledge pertaining to scientific inquiry and to integrate qualitative and quantitative approaches in research. Knowledge of applied research tools and methodology along with the use of software helps in integrating research and practice. Faculty and researchers at times, find themselves technically constrained while promoting research due to lack of sufficient understanding of statistical analysis and techniques specially Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).

The workshop will expose participants with the application of SEM, the Second Generation Statistical Method. SEM is widely used by researchers to analyze the inter-relationships among constructs in a model. Hence, to ensure more skilful and scientific data analysis as well as high quality research output from faculty a formal training is required.

This FDP is aimed at honing the teaching and research skills of faculty, researchers and trainers. It will inculcate confidence in the usage of data analysis tools using software packages SPSS & AMOS.

Program Objectives

The FDP is designed to achieve the following objectives:

·         To enable the participants to define research problem and select suitable research design.

·         To impart capabilities for formulation and testing of hypothesis based on the nature of research.

·         To comprehend appropriateness of statistical software packages SPSS & AMOS for data analysis and structural equation modeling (SEM)

·         To enable the participants to understand report writing and writing research proposals.

To make the participants aware about latest trends in social science research discipline
